Club seething as Channel 7 name club involved in porn attack

  • Club seething as Channel 7 name club involved in porn attack

An AFL club is furious with the AFL's broadcasting partner, Channel Seven after they named the club involved in the recent cyber-porn attack.

The Herald Sun broke the story earlier this week, but decided not to name the team or player, to save reputation, but that wasn't the case for Channel Seven, who released the club's name on Wednesday night.

Channel Seven journalists reportedly weren't keen on naming the club, however were overruled by those at the broadcasting network.

The club's hierarchy is reporting "seething" with Channel Seven for their decision to use pixelated images of the player in its report.

“The fact the only network and media agency to threaten and carry out with naming the club was the AFL broadcast partner is even worse,” a club insider told Herald Sun.

While those close to the player have admitted he was foolish and immature to go along with the "catfish", but mentioned that he was a victim of a potential crime.
