St Kilda has again ruled out forward Patrick McCartin for the third straight week, as the club still waits for medical reviews on the former number one pick's health.

“Paddy’s got some more medical reviews this week and until we know what they are we won’t know the longer term picture, but Paddy won’t play this week,” Cox told

“He’s training really well, he’s doing everything other than the full contest work and he’s getting a lot of good conditioning work in.

“But until he gets back in to at least a week of full training, he wouldn’t play.

“So he won’t play this week, we’re hopeful beyond that, but it depends on the medical testing that he’s still got to undertake this week.”

The Saints could welcome back rebounding defender Shane Savage for their clash against the Western Bulldogs this weekend, after he missed the team's 36 point win over Melbourne with concussion.

Defender Sam Fisher is also a good chance to return after spending a number of weeks in the VFL, recovering from a hamstring injury.
