Hawthorn is reportedly poised for an off-season bonanza of trading with out of contract Sydney midfielder Tom Mitchell and Adelaide midfielder Brad Crouch, also out of contract, in their sights.
With an aging midfield of Luke Hodge, Sam Mitchell, Jordan Lewis and Shaun Burgoyne, the Hawks are keen to freshen up their midfield in the coming years to remain in contention for premierships.
The Hawks also have their eyes firmly set on Gold Coast Suns midfielder Jaeger O'Meara who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Sydney, as well as Mitchell's management, have put contract talks on hold until the end of the season as they assess their list.
Mitchell's manager Phil Mullen says his client would be prepared to move should the right offer come along.
“It’s just a matter of what we agree to with the Swans — if we do agree. If we do that’s great, but if not we’ll look at other alternatives,” Mullen told the Herald Sun
“It’s about getting the right terms, wherever that happens to be. Hopefully it’s at the Swans.”
Crouch is wanted by the Crows but the Herald Sun understands that Crouch has become increasingly frustrated at the lack of senior opportunities this year.
