Sydney Swans defender Michael Talia has this morning avoided conviction after pleading guilty to being caught in the possession of cocaine last month.

Talia was stood down by the Swans after the he was arrested by Sydney police last month and is yet to be re-instated with further punishment set to come from the club.

The club is reportedly set to release a statement later today.
