Last year, we put together a 21 year ladder (which was meant to be a 20 year ladder), highlighting the teams that have had a successful two decades, and ones that have had a not so successful 20 years.

The ladder from last season saw the Cats comfortably ahead and nothing has changed in that aspect, however the Hawks have climbed two spots, while the sleeping Crows have jumped into the top four after their brilliant year.

Take a look at our ladder from last season here

Essendon's year has seen them plummet six spots down the ladder.

For the Gold Coast Suns and the GWS Giants, we have taken their wins over their first six and five seasons respectively and taken their average wins and added them to the years before they were founded.

A reminder that the Crows and the Cats have played one less game than everyone else due to the passing of coach Phil Walsh during the 2015 season.

This ladder includes the 2016 season, back to the 1997 season. This ladder is also NOT including finals campaigns.
